Tattoo removal...YIKES!

So, I committed to having two tattoos removed.  One on my chest and one on my ankle.

I was terrified at the prospect of the pain involved, because I've never heard anything good, my friend Jaime is going through tattoo removal and when I asked her "On a scale of 1-10, how much does it hurt?" and she replied "15" I was ready to change my mind.

Pat Donahue - owner of Your Best Skin said due to the size of my tattoos, that it wouldn't take long, but she didn't decieve me about the pain either.  She gave me a little tube of numbing cream to put on one hour before the appointment, and when I arrived she got me all comfy in the chair and started to freeze the area with a machine she calls 'The Zimmer'.

It blasts -30 degree celsius air onto the area to be treated and although I was terrified of how much it would hurt, I was surprised when she said 'Here we go' and I only felt a little bit of a snap.  Kind of like a rubber band.  Before I could count to ten, she was done, and I couldn't believe it!   The photo shows on the far left, the tattoo before treatment, top right is the tattoo right after treatment, and the bottom right is the tattoo today, not quite 24 hours after treatment.  I only felt a mild sunburn type pain yesterday, today, although it's swollen, I feel nothing.

I was so excited at how quick and painless it was, that I went ahead and had her do a tattoo on my ankle too.  I'll put pictures of that one up next week after it heals a few more days.  I'm anxious to see the progress.  I'll also show you the heart next week, so you can see it after it's healed a bit more.

If you've got a bad tattoo, Your Best Skin is having a contest to 'Prove it and Remove it'!  Submit your photo HERE  and you could win a free tattoo removal!

It's not as scary as I thought it would be, and next week, I'm going to have her use the laser on my face... I didn't know it could be used to treat wrinkles, sunspots, scars, etc... I'm going ALL IN!

Talk with you next week,

Heidi
