Stan Bennett

Stan was born into radio…he really was!!! Upon arriving into the world he ran head first into the family’s am radio and his signal has only grown since. Stan is a born and bred “Mainer” growing up in Woolwich and graduating from Morse High in 1991.

His desire and dedication to the broadcasting life began at the age of 15 working at WIGY/WJTO which seemed only fitting since he grew up listening to the likes of Chuck Night, C. Mac, Steve Maple, Mark Edwards and Bob Anderson on the same station from the age of 10. Stan lives and breathes the radio life…even chaining himself to a radio tower during his college years…unfortunately nobody knew he was there and it took a week to find him.

He now lives in Auburn with his wife Alison and his sons Zach 23 who is in the NAVY, Dustin 19, Drew 12 and Jake 9. When he isn't trying to make you laugh each morning on Frank he can found coaching Rec soccer and basketball. Stan is a die hard Red Sox fan…and when they have a bad day so does he. He loves to be with his family, ski, stare at his truck that he never drives (we know...very weird) and visit one of his favorite spots on Earth…Popham Beach.

Heidi Knight

Being told I had to write a bio for the ‘New’ website, made me cringe and immediately miss the ‘Old’ website. I searched the internet for ‘tips on writing a bio’, ‘how to write a bio for your website’, etc… Basically, they’re all the same. BORING. I’ve also come to realize that it’s nearly impossible to list your skills & talents or point out your accomplishments without sounding like a complete douchebag. I was fine with just being a regular douchebag (without a bio)…but since it’s required – I’ll do my best to NOT be boring while providing little to no douchebaggery.

Yes, I am from Presque Isle. Yes, I have all my own teeth. (Commonly follows the previous statement.) No, you may not check my teeth to be sure. I am not a horse and YOU are not a dentist. I’m not related to the Knight family from (insert town/state here). I’m not really a Knight. That’s a made-up radio name.

I have a daughter named Caitlin and a son named Jared. I’ve got two Jack Russell Terriers – Roscoe ‘The Storm Dog’ and Molly. No, you can’t have Roscoe, but I might trade Molly for a bottle of Advil and a Reuben sandwich.

I am an only child – not surprising.

I am a fan of beer, Guinness taking the top spot on the list. I do not like spiders, but don’t mind reptiles or rats. I love going to the fair, and the goats are my favorite animal to visit. I prefer cake to pie, I don’t tuck the sheets when I make the bed and I am afraid of drowning. I love tattoos, on myself as well as others. I have 7 and am planning the next.

I once worked for the State Attorney in Orlando Florida. Until, I was fired for making 900 calls to a psychic. I blame my co-worker Wendy for that, she’s the one who kept having me to do it from the reception desk & putting it on speaker phone. Shuuuh!

I have no formal education in radio or anything else for that matter. (I took ‘Algebra I’ three times – thus proving I am NOT a mathlete.) I did take Tae Kwon Do, but I can’t kick my left leg any higher than my waist these days, so let’s not even count that. In fact, forget I mentioned it.

I wet my pants in my 2nd grade class, and tried to convince my classmates & teacher that it was a leak in the ceiling. They didn’t buy it.

That’s about as far as I can go without being a Douchemonger. I’ve got no fancy accolades to list anyhow. I do love my job though, and gladly admit that it was a life-long dream for me – that I NEVER thought would come true.

Feel free to be in touch anytime. Rock on with your bad selves, Frank Nation. I’m glad to be a part of your weekday & Saturday mornings.

Heidi

Holly Nunan

More commonly known as "The Nunz," Holly Nunan is a musician who grew up in the state of Maine and has an unabashed love for the state and its thriving music scene. She can be found around Portland taking in any number of shows, performing with any variety of local musical acts (basically anyone who will give her a microphone and a tambourine), and talking about all things music on WCSH 6 on Friday mornings right around 6:20am. Holly also writes a daily music news blog, Newz by The Nunz, for Knack Factory, which can be found at FactoryPortland.com. Holly believes she was born in the wrong era and that that has ultimately led to her lifelong obsession with classic rock. Some of her favorite artists include The Kinks, Traveling Wilburys, Tom Petty, Led Zeppelin, AC/DC, T. Rex, Neil Young, Roy Orbison, Harry Nilsson, The Beatles, ELO, The Zombies, The Stones, Leon Russell and The Cars. Holly also has an unhealthy obsession with George Harrison, who is, without a doubt, her favorite Beatle (and probably her favorite human). She enjoys a good taco and stupid cat videos.

Holly is super excited to be playing all of the classic songs that Frank Nation knows and loves each and every weekday from 9am to 2pm on 107.5 Frank FM!

Leif Erickson

Afternoon Drive Host: 2pm-7pm Monday-Friday
Morning Host: Sunday 6am-Noon

"Like" Leif's Facebook Fan Page!

Leif Erickson has been holding down the 2-7pm shift at Frank FM since 2005. A lifelong New Englander, he grew up in the Worcester, MA area, and decided things were better “up north.” He moved to New Hampshire where he would learn to use a turn signal for the first time. After getting his start in radio at Q106 in Claremont, New Hampshire, Leif was lured to Frank FM with the promise of unlimited use of the Frank FM helicopter.

After landing the helicopter somewhere between Peaks and Cushing Islands on his first day at work, the brass decided to keep him on staff anyway, so that he could eventually pay off the cost of the former Frank FM helicopter.

He is a graduate of Boston University, which means he attended the same school as Howard Stern, Bill O’Reilly and that girl from Bones. He’s a huge fan of classic artists like Yes, the Moody Blues, the Beatles (especially George), the Stones, The Who, Grand Funk Railroad, R.E.M., Genesis, Santana… you get the idea. He also has a passion for more obscure bands like The Church, Quicksilver Messenger Service, Hawkwind and Bon Jovi. He is the resident music historian at Frank FM, which means he’s the resident dork, too. Leif is a fan of all the Boston sports teams, most especially he is a die-hard Red Sox lifer. He also has room in his life for the pathetic Pittsburgh Pirates, for some reason. He lives in the Greater Portland area, has several feline roommates, and naturally comes to work covered in cat hair every day.

A few more Leif Erickson fun facts:

- He bought Liv Tyler’s mom a Diet Coke once.
- Outside of Maine, he is heard on dozens of radio stations coast-to-coast as a ski conditions reporter.
- He does not eat seafood of any type.
- He checks into hotel rooms and places pizza orders under the names Dr. Winston O’Boogie, Leon Strong and Jim Lahey.
- His first concert was the Moody Blues at the former Worcester Centrum.
- He flew to Michigan to go skiing once. (Who the hell does that?)
- He did a live broadcast at a tampon factory once, and another one on a boat on a lake in New Hampshire handing out bottles of Yoohoo.
- He is the former fill-in host for the Chevy Chase Show.

Tune into to Leif Erickson every weekday from 2-7 for great tunes, Connect the Classics at 3, and the 6 O’Clock Class Reunion at 6. If you don’t , Leif may never be able to pay back the money for that helicopter…

Rick Johnson

I've been obsessed with music for as long as I can remember. But when you lack the ability to actually create music, what do you do? The next best thing, of course: get a job in radio! Been in radio for almost 15 years now, and been on the radio in Portland for almost 10.

I like music of all kinds. That photo of me was taken in Sun Studios in Memphis, and that's the original microphone used by Johnny Cash and Elvis Presley (or so they told me...it's probably just some old mic that they trot out for sucker tourists like me!)
I'm a record collecting freak. I haven't gone through and counted them in a while, but last time I checked, I had around 900+ vinyl records, and I'm buying more all the time. I also have upwards of 1000 CD's, and about a gazillion songs on my computer hard drive. Yup, I like music...just a little!

I grew up in Massachusetts, but married a Maine girl, which is how I ended up here. Been married for 10 years to my wife Erica. No kids (by choice), but we do have a fat cat named Wombat who adores my wife and barely tolerates my existence.

When I'm not on the radio or listening to music, I like to read (currently in the middle of a great Johnny Cash bio), watch movies (all kinds), and watch TV (Mad Men, True Detective, and Walking Dead are some of my faves).

Excited to be part of FRANK FM
