Ninety-nine percent of the work I do here at Frank FM is indoors. When the weather is nice, it's a curse, however in frigid times like this it's quite a blessing.
Not everyone gets the option to work indoors when windchills are well below zero. Our top-notch radio engineering staff for instance, must travel to remote transmitter sites to maintain our on-air presence from time to time. Certainly construction crews are on the job during cold times as well. Let's not forget our first responders, electrical and telecommunications crews and so much more.
One occupation that often is forgotten about deals with the most brutal cold of all: mountain snowmaking and grooming crews. As a skier I must tip my ski helmet to them for all THEY do!
