J.J. Cale 1938-2013

Oklahoma-born singer/songwriter/guitarist J.J. Cale has died, according to his management representative.  While he wasn't a huge hitmaker as a solo performer, he wrote enduring classics like "After Midnight," "Cocaine" and "Travelin' Light," all recorded by friend Eric Clapton.  Lynyrd Skynyrd turned his "Call Me the Breeze" into a legendary jam, and artists as diverse as Kansas ("Bringing it Back") and Santana ("Sensitive Kind") covered his music.  This "musician's musician" will be missed.  --Leif Erickson
